The Orientation to Supervision group is conducted by the United States Probation Office the first Wednesday of every month for offenders about to begin their term of supervision. The meeting lasts approximately one hour and offenders are encouraged to bring their family members and significant others. The primary objectives of the group are to explain the role and responsibilities of the United States Probation Officer, to detail the conditions of supervision common to all offenders and answer frequently asked questions, and to emphasize the communication necessary between the offender and his or her officer. It is believed that educating offenders as to their responsibilities while on supervision will create a successful reintegration of the offender into the community.
