Parking

There is a 500 car parking garage located on the Southeast corner of Madison Street and East Capital Ave.(Governor’s Mansion on NW corner). The rate is $.50 per hour. There are also 10-hour meters located on McCarty and Washington Streets. These meters take quarters only. Two-hour meters will not allow sufficient time to select a jury.

If you need additional directions to the courthouse, please telephone the Jefferson City Clerk’s office at 573-636-4015.

Handicapped Access:
The Courthouse is fully accessible for persons with handicaps. Ramp access is located at the main entrance of the Courthouse.

Parking:
Pay lots are located near the building. Some lots have attendants, while others may have a box to deposit money in.  It is not recommended that you park on the street at meters or the UMB parking Garage. Parking fees vary from approximately $2.00 to $10.00.
It would be a good idea to bring change. You will be reimbursed for your parking.

Handicapped Access:
The Charles Evans Whittaker Courthouse is fully accessible for persons with handicaps. Ramp access is located at the southeast corner of the courthouse at 9th and Locust . Handicapped spots are available in the courthouse parking lot located just west of the courthouse on 9th Street. Persons needing assistance to enter the courthouse may call the U.S. Marshals at 816-512-2038 . A wheelchair is available for use in the courthouse.

Traveling in from the north over the Paseo Bridge: Take I-35 south over the Paseo Bridge, continue on I-35 south, keeping to the right. Take the Oak St exit. (sharp right).  At the stoplight just past the bridge, continue south. Our building occupies the entire block on Oak St between 8th and 9th Streets. 

 

Traveling in from the north over the Heart of America Bridge: Take Burlington south over the Heart of America Bridge. At the stoplight just past the bridge, continue south. Our building occupies the entire block on Oak St. between 8th and 9th Streets.

Traveling in from the north over the Broadway Bridge: Take 169 south over the Broadway Bridge. At the stoplight just past the bridge, continue south on Broadway. Go to 8th Street and turn left. Go approximately 8 blocks. Our building occupies the entire block between 8th and 9th Streets.

Parking

Parking is available just north of the courthouse.

Directions

Traveling in from the east on Highway 60

Take the 65 North exit to the Chestnut Expressway Exit, turning left on Chestnut. From Chestnut, turn left onto Sherman Ave. There is a light at the intersection of Sherman and Chestnut. After turning left onto Sherman, you will go through one set of lights, and our building is located on the left.

Traveling in from the east on I-44

Take I-44 to the Glenstone Exit, turning south onto Glenstone. From Glenstone, turn right onto St. Louis Street. Our building is located at the intersection of St. Louis Street and John Q. Hammons Parkway.

Traveling in from the west on I-44

Take I-44 to Kansas Expressway (Hwy 13), turning south onto Kansas Expressway. From Kansas Expressway, turn left onto Chestnut Expressway. From Chestnut Expressway, turn right onto Sherman Ave. After turning right onto Sherman Ave., go through one set of lights, and our building is located on the left.
