Federal Court will Remain Open

In the event of a federal government shutdown on October 1, 2013, the United States Courts for the Western District of Missouri will remain open for regular business. The federal judiciary has fee generated reserve funds to remain open for approximately 10 business days even if other agencies shutdown due to a lapse in funding. All proceedings and deadlines will remain in effect as scheduled. Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) will remain in operation for the electronic filing of documents and the issuance of court orders and opinions. Should this situation change, we will post further instructions on this site.
