THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2009
5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The highlight of this event will be a 50-minute CLE presentation at 5 p.m. by a judicial panel, discussing ethical concerns for attorneys conducting civil pretrial litigation in the federal courts of Kansas and Missouri. The panel, including Chief Judge Fernando Gaitan, Jr. and Magistrate Judge Sarah Hays, from the Western District of Missouri, and Judge John Lungstrum and Magistrate Judge James O’Hara, from the District of Kansas, will discuss the ethical issues they see with a focus on the current danger zone of electronic discovery. Following the CLE presentation, there will be a judicial reception to which all judges in both districts have been invited. Appetizers and drinks will be served.
CLE credit is pending for Missouri and Kansas.
The District Court of Kansas is sponsoring the CLE, so there is no charge to members for this event.
RSVP to Kim_Leininger@ksd.uscourts.gov in order to assist the Court with preparations.
